A ponytail is a hairstyle where some, most, or all of the hair on the head is pulled away from the face, gathered, and secured at the back of the head with a hair tie, clip, or similar accessory. It is then left to hang freely, resembling the tail of a pony.
If the hair is divided into two sections and left loose, they are called ponytails, pigtails, or bunch. If the sections are braided, they are referred to as pigtails, plaits, or braids.
Braided ponytails offer various options and styles. You can incorporate a side French braid, fishtail braid, Dutch braid, 4-strand braid, or thin regular braids into your ponytail, either blending them into the ponytail or making them a prominent part of it.
The half ponytail style allows you to secure a portion of your hair in a ponytail while leaving the rest of the hair down. This style keeps the hair pulled back from your face and maintains a neat and tidy appearance. It works best for hair lengths ranging from medium to long.
